

My geography/energy resources professor was talking about oil shales today, and he was saying how shale is made of compacted clay. Being the offhand kind of guy he is, he told us that there’s essentially clay in soft serve ice cream. I looked it up later, and i think the mineral he was talking about is calcium sulfate, or plaster of paris. yep, that’s in your dairy queen. Since I worked at dairy queen for one rather unusual summer, i can now say that i used to feed people clay. I’m getting an image of me stuffing some clay down a fat guy’s throat, yelling, “new blizzard flavor!! it’s awesome! it’s CLAY!”
